A: For the first few weeks after picking up your Goldendoodle puppy from Ohio Goldendoodle, we recommend providing soft toys that they can gently sink their teeth into. These toys not only help with the puppy’s adjustment to their new home but also keep them engaged and entertained, reducing the likelihood of them chewing on socks or shoes. As your puppy grows and their chewing becomes more vigorous, it is important to transition to harder, more durable toys designed to withstand strong chewing. At this stage, soft plush or easily destructible toys should be replaced to ensure your puppy's safety and to promote healthy chewing habits. Use three types of brushes for optimal results: a slicker brush to gently work through the tips of the hair, a straight metal comb to reach down to the base of the coat and ensure thorough detangling, and a rake-style comb specifically to address and carefully remove any matting. Regular grooming with these tools helps prevent tangles, reduces shedding, and keeps your Goldendoodle’s coat soft and healthy, aligning with our commitment to providing families with well-cared-for puppies.
